Troubleshooting wood chipper spindle runout
Spindle runout in the wood chipper can exacerbate machine wear and affect chip quality. This not only reduces its own operating efficiency but may also indirectly affect the feeding stability of the subsequent pellet mill, and even cause problems such as uneven feeding and poor granulation in the pellet mill. Therefore, it is necessary to quickly investigate and resolve these issues to ensure the efficient and coordinated operation of the wood chipper and pellet mill.
Check for worn or loose wood chipper spindle bearings, as this is the most common cause;
Check for unbalanced blade installation or uneven force distribution due to uneven feeding;
Check for spindle deformation, bending, or misaligned pulley installation.
Solutions:
Replace worn bearings and add grease according to specifications;
Recalibrate blade installation positions to ensure symmetrical blade installation and even force distribution;
Adjust pulley coaxiality, correct any spindle deformation, and replace spindle components if necessary.
