Hammer Mill Screen Damage Inspection and Replacement Standards
A hammer mill controls crushed material granularity via its built-in screen. If the screen of the hammer mill gets damaged, it will discharge materials with inconsistent particle sizes. Feeding substandard raw materials into the pellet mill will significantly increase the pellet mill’s operating load and raise the powder content of finished pellets.
Long-term impact from hard impurities in raw materials, continuous corrosion and abrasion of the screen, and sudden feeding overload will all lead to screen cracks and enlarged holes.
Cut off power and shut down the machine, then fully inspect the entire screen surface. Small damage can be patched temporarily, while severely damaged screens must be replaced with new ones of identical aperture. Fasten the sealing frame tightly during installation to avoid material leakage. Maintain uniform feeding speed during production to mitigate hard debris impact on the screen, and deliver qualified crushed materials steadily for the pellet mill.
